If you answered mostly As then you are a visionary. If you answered mostly Bs then you are a dreamer. The best thing is that most visionaries begin as dreamers, and after putting more thought and action into their ideas, they became visionaries. Either way, keep having those marvelous ideas, and don’t give up on them!

Are you a dreamer or are you a visionary? This seems like a redundant question. Dreamers and visionaries are so similar, how is one supposed to pick an answer? I'd argue they are both very different. Dreamers, quite simply: dream. They come up with brilliant ideas for the future, ideas that they are often very excited and passionate about. But very rarely do they make it past the idea stage. Dreams without plans can only go so far. You can come up with as many ideas and dreams as you want, but if you don't sit down and think realistically about what the dream is and how it can be executed into reality, it will never come true.

This is where a visionary is different from a dreamer. A visionary considers the what, the how, the when, and for what purpose. They sit down and put real thought into the idea and consider how it could be achieved in a pragmatic way. Visionaries are dreamers that know how to move forward with their dreams. They will reach out and find people that can help them build their idea into something real.

While there is nothing wrong with being a dreamer, don’t forget that if you want your idea to come to life, you have to move forward and breathe life into it. When a dreamer becomes a Do-ER they are taking the pivotal step that separates them from the herd. The world is filled with dreamers, but taking your idea to the next level requires you to be a Do-ER.

Think through all aspects of your dream because it can be done —you just need to find the bigger picture and bigger purpose that makes it come to life. When asked if you're a dreamer or a visionary, I hope your answer is visionary. Don't be afraid to take your dream to the next level by taking the necessary steps to transition from dreamer to visionary.
